  • Generally I agree with your post, everybody would agree. The health care law though did pass the House, the Senate and the President signed it. Yes more then 50% of the people had objections about the law, but the majority was split into several fractions.

  • I hate to burst your friends story. That's impossible, there was no direct contact between the border patrols especially Americans. We had a security zone in the border area which was called "Niemands Land" which means nobodies land or no mans land. It was about half mile wide between fences.

  • Debbie you are absolutely correct, I am German and that is the way you say it "Ich bin ein Berliner" I am a Berliner. Ich bin Berliner is also being used, it is only a shorter way of saying it.

  • Hey Mike your are not quite right. The wall was mainly build to keep people in. It wasn't about subsidized food it had more to do with the bleeding out of the people in the east. The DDR subsidized education, and that was much of the issue.

  • Billy I hate to say it, you should be the one reading more history. The airlift had nothing to do with Kennedy. It happened in 1948 and 49, because the Russians thought they could starve out west berlin and it would fall into their hands.
